To All the Viewers

On February 28, 2008, Asif Rahman, the Metaphysical Lyrical Wizard was killed by a truck on Queens Blvd. If there was a bike lane on Q.B., Asif might still be alive.

Mayor Bloomberg is encouraging people to ride their bikes due to congestion and pollution, which is also good for environment and health. Bike sales went up high in recent years. The Mayor's plan for a 200-mile long bike lane for next 3 years across the city doesn't include Q.B. There are bike lanes on some "single lane" streets but not on Queens Boulevard, which has six lanes each way.

Councilman Gennaro held a joint press conference for a bike lane with the Transportation Alternatives. He wrote a letter to the Mayor which was co-signed by Council Members Liu and Gioia. Please join me in my campaign for a bike lane on Q.B. in honor of Asif and for the safety of other bikers. Please click on "View my complete profile" button to visit "Life & Work of Asif" & "Remembering Asif" pages in this blog.

Thanks.
